The wait is over; anyone who’s been holding their breath and their wallets since the launch announcement last month will now have their patience rewarded, as the iPad 2 goes on sale in the UK today (March 25th). The tablet sequel will be available to buy from Apple stores nationwide from 5pm.
Hundreds of avid fans up and down the UK have been queuing overnight to be among the first on these shores to pick up the iPad’s successor – with some having stayed in line for as much as 40 hours by the time the doors finally open.
The iPad 2 boasts a quicker, dual-core Apple A5 processor, a slimmer and lighter design and runs iOS 4.3, allowing for multi-tasking and gesture control. Prices start at £399 – for the 16GB WiFi version – and head up to £659 for the 64GB WiFi+3G version.
