That suspicion has been given new legs today, after a Comscore report has revealed Apple’s device to have a staggering hold over the market. “The iPad is currently the dominant tablet device across all geographies,” says the damning report, with strong numbers to back it up.
It claims that the iPad holds 89 per cent of all global tablet internet traffic, and that that statistic shoots up to an enormous 97 per cent in the US. This is based solely on tablet traffic, but that’s probably as good a test as any, seeing as browsing the web is the devices’ meat and veg.
Android largely fills in the gaps in those two numbers, but is there really any room for a comeback when the iPad is so dominant? Let us know your thoughts on the Gadget Helpline Twitter feed.
