A renowned mobile security specialist and Apple specification predictor has released his latest list of potential iPhone leaks just days ahead of the launch of two handsets – the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities has been accurate in his Apple handset speculations on more than a handful occasions and reveals the following selection of specs about the iPhone 7, which is due for launch at an event in California on Wednesday:
Processor
Apple’s latest and greatest A10 processor is expected to be included – a chipset that was recently benchmark tested with results leaked online suggesting that the new iPhone 7 could run at 2.45GHz. Ming-chi Kuo seems to agree with this idea in his predictions.
Storage
According to Kuo, the starting storage size on the iPhone 7 will be 32GB fixed storage / non-expandable – a 16GB model seems unlikely this time around, and it’s believed 128GB and 256GB models will also become available, bringing storage up to par with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy range. As far as RAM goes, we’re looking at 3GB on the iPhone 7 Plus and 2GB on the standard.
Headphone Port or No Headphone Port?
It certainly seems final that Apple has done away with the 3.5mm headphone port on the next iPhone. Artistic interpretations and potentially legit production diagrams seemed to point towards this and this list of predictions is yet another indication that Apple will favour its own Lightning connector, supporting EarPod headphones and other connectable add-ons.
Camera
The iPhone 7 Plus is expected to include a 12-megapixel main camera sensors and dual-lenses, wide-angle and telephoto tech. High quality photos will be a focus of the handset, possibly at the expense of the handset’s sleek form. You may recall the designs showing of the camera bulge which met much criticism.
Colours
The iPhone 7 should become available in a varied choice of finishes: Rose Gold, Gold and Silver to be joined by Space Gray and Piano Black. Whether certain colours will be exclusive to storage size is yet to be determined.
