Well it would seem that the suspected release date of the 20th of July would appear to be correct.
Yesterday there were various sources stating that today would be the day we would be able to get our hands on the much anticipated upgrade, but nothing official.
Until now that is, as the cat has finally been let out of the bag thanks to Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer, who has just confirmed that the OS X Lion will be hitting the App Store later today (6:30pm if you’re in the UK).
The 4GB download will set you back £20.99 and has an abundance of new features, 250 in fact, including “Launchpad” which is like an iPad style view of your applications and also “Mission Control” which is an improved way of seeing all your current running programs and tasks.
