Apple Sold 39.3M iPhones During Last Quarter

Apple’s earnings for the final quarter of its fiscal year, and coincidentally the quarter in which it released its new iPhone, are out. They sold a hell of a lot, 39.3 million iPhones to be exact showing no signs of slowing. This is backed up with an impressive 12.3 million iPads and a mere 5.5 million Macs. iPod flagged behind once again with a measly 2.6 million sales although for a dying product line that isn’t half bad.

The really impressive statistic here is that year after year iPhone growth continues to rise, and it’s easy to see why the device fared so well this is the most successful iPhone launch of all time. It still seems ludicrous to me that something that could in theory last you four+ years is being replaced every year leading to these inflated sales each time around

Last year, Apple sold 33.8 million iPhones, 14.08 million iPads, 4.57 million Macs and 3.5 million iPods during the same period.

It goes to show that Apple’s main business is its Flagship iPhone, with the iPad fading slowly due to their longevity and real lack of need to upgrade them every new release, it will likely always trickle money in for apple but it has far less growth potential compared to its still-growing smartphone sales. It’s likely that the iPad and iPod market, will be under scrutiny next quarter by those in charge of Apples future.

Overall, Apple’s iPhone revenue jumped from $19.5 billion last year, to $23.7 billion this year, which frankly is a horrendous amount of money and just goes to show how much Apple dominates the other tech companies out there.
