Apple WWDC Event announced for 2nd June – iOS 8 and new Mac’s?

Apple has dated the official Apple World Wide Developers Conference (or WWDC as it’s commonly known) in San Francisco, for the 2nd of June this year, and hot on top of everyone’s list is iOS 8.

Apple generally are doing a yearly update of its iOS mobile operating system, so this year’s WWDC is the hot place for Apple to announced its update a full year after it debut the current iOS 7 operating system.

The WWDC is generally where Apple announced some of its more technical details like software updates and new devices in the mac range of devices (Mac, MacBook, Mac Pro etc.) as well as innovations in software and discussion on the future.

Apple tends to save Tablet. iPhone and iPod announcements for separate events dedicated to these devices.

If Apple do indeed introduce a new iOS for iPhone, iPod and iPad devices, then we would expect the software to be more of an incremental change focussed on new feature, not a new design as last year’s iOS7 featured a radical re-design.

Also expected is the long awaited Apple Healthbook app, which will aim to turn your iPhone into a fitness device, without the need for third party applications. Previously leaked information about Healthbook suggests that the App will track things like calories burned and heart rate plus the next step in Health apps, with a blood pressure and even hydration level monitors.

The same thing can be said of the Mac Pro, with last year’s WWDC revealing the massively updated professional computer, so this year expect some internal updates, not design changes.

And if there is a new product launched at WWDC? Well our bets would be on a new Retina Display iPad Air if the recent rumours are anything to go by.

The dates are now in our calendars, as no matter what Apple is going to be announcing something to get us all excited.
