The front cover art for Assassin’s Creed III was revealed on Friday, but perhaps more exciting was Ubisoft’s promise to unveil even more secrets on Monday.
Monday has come and Ubisoft hasn’t disappointed, releasing the first official trailer for the game. It’s a brilliant teaser, and gives us the chance to learn more about the game’s finer details.
Assassin’s Creed III is set in 1777, in the Mohawk Valley, deep in the state of New York. We were right in thinking that the main character would be new – you’ll play a chap known as Connor, whose Mother was a Native American of the Mohawk Valley, his Father an English colonist. Rather than the traditional storyline that plays heavily on the Templars, in Assassin’s Creed III we focus on the battle between the English and the Americans.
Weaponry is to be different, with our protagonist wielding a pistol, knife, axe and bow with arrows. His outfit appears to be influenced by the Native American style, although he still clearly resembles an assassin.
In the trailer we even see George Washington, bellowing orders to his American troops, who are stood ready to do battle against the English. All of this is going on while Connor watches from afar in typical assassin style.
The game will launch on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on October 31st, although a PC release is yet to be confirmed. Check out the full trailer below and let us know what you think.
