US network carrier AT&T has announced it will be offering up the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active to its customers from June 12th and a ‘Coming Soon’ page for the flagship variant is now live showing it off in a series of official photos as well as giving a rundown of its rugged specifications.
Designed to actual military standards (IP68 rating) and engineered to take on any challenge, the handset comes complete with dustproofing as well as shock and water resistance to withstand 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. The S6 Active also features a thick protective edge and an urban camouflage motif in choice of blue, grey or white.
Physical buttons for menu, home and back functions are included in this unique S6 model and are chunky and are raised along the bottom allowing them to be pressed with ease regardless of the weather conditions. Calls can be made and answered and photos can be taken from the lock screen so you can take a quick selfie while partaking in your extreme sport of choice.
Aside from the rough stuff the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is just as functional as its more fashionable siblings with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop included and in the software is the Activity Zone referred to as the ultimate companion for your outdoor activities and comes loaded with compass, flashlight and stopwatch as just few of the useful tools its inventory.
AT&T reveals customers can claim the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active from June 12th in the United States and we await confirmation that it’s even going to make it over to us here in Blighty. But we’re ready for action when it does.
