Just how awesome is this? We’re sure all Xbox One owners will feel jealousy – if only a hint – when looking at this very rare Titanfall edition Xbox One and matching controller.
Respawn Entertainment, the makers of the game, have commissioned a very small number of these exclusive consoles for their developers, so unfortunately it’s very unlikely most people will be able to get their hands on one, unless of course a developer decides to raise some funds by putting theirs on eBay.
Split into black and white and sporting orange print, the console is striking and comes boxed with a matching controller. Whilst the wireless pad has been customised in the same fashion as the console, the Kinect sensor hasn’t been touched and remains glossy black.
If, like us, you’ve fallen in love with this special edition, you might take some solace from the fact that the controller will be available to buy for around £55. In the UK, GAME is one of the main retailers offering the controller with it priced at £54.99. In order to get the console itself though, you’ll probably need to find a way to bribe a developer at Respawn. You could just get a white spray can and some stencils, but the end result will probably look a bit naff unless you’re Banksy or something.
Numerous retailers will also be bundling the game with an Xbox One at the new price of £399, with some even dropping the price to £369. This bundle consists of the standard Xbox One package plus a copy of Titanfall, but the limited edition controller is not included.
Titanfall launches on March 14th and is already one of the most anticipated titles for the Xbox One, generating plenty of hype since its first reveal at E3 2013. For those not in the know, it’s a futuristic shooter which combines jetpacks with mech robots you can actually jump in and control. Respawn ran a beta period for PC and Xbox One in February where gamers could try out the game on two online multiplayer levels and we naturally blasted our way through it, enjoying every moment. Some gamers at Gadget Helpline HQ berated it as “just Call of Duty but with robots”, but we’re working on educating them.
