Nokia’s newly crowned champion handset, the Nokia Lumia 925, has received some pricing information by the UK network Vodafone today that sees Nokia’s new flagship Windows Phone 8 running smartphone coming to the red network on contracts for around £34 a month.
Vodafone will have an exclusive deal with Nokia to stock the Black 32GB version of the Lumia 925, however other colours will be available on other UK networks. The £34 a month contract from Vodafone will feature unlimited calls and texts and 2GB of mobile internet each month, on a 24 month contract.
The Nokia Lumia 925 was announced last month by the Finnish company as an upgrade on the existing Lumia 920 smartphone. It features a much lighter and thinner frame than its 920 and 820 siblings, measuring just 8.5mm thick and weighing 139g.
Inside there’s a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip running at 1.5GHz along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Connectivity comes in the form of pentaband 4G LTE which allows the phone to use 4G networks around the world, plus Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and NFC. There’s a hefty 2,000 mAh battery to power it all, which like the Lumia 920, can be wirelessly charged when used with clip-on shell cases.
Nokia has employed the same 4.5-inch OLED PureMotion HD+ display as in its recent Lumia 928, which boasts the same 1280 x 768 pixel resolution and super sensitive touch technology that allows you to use the phone when wearing gloves.
As the phone runs 4G Vodafone has announced that customers on the £36 per month contract will be able to upgrade the contract to its forthcoming 4G network at an extra cost.
Rivals O2, T-Mobile and Orange are also offering the 925 for a slightly more expensive prices of £37 per month and with just 1GB of data. Three has the phone from June 21st on its Ultimate Internet 500 plan for £35 per month or the One Plan for £37 per month.
