RIM’s BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 isn’t officially set to drop till September 15th – but if online retailer Play.com can be believed we may get to grips with the dual-functioning QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen smartphone more than a month earlier.
Suggesting the handset – also known as the Bold 9900 – will be released on August 12th, Play.com are listing the black version of RIM’s latest smartphone. This as a SIM-free model, costing £519.99 with free delivery. There will also be a white version sold, which Amazon have pegged for an October 15th release.
The Liquid Graphics touch screen is a new feature never before used in BlackBerry mobiles, but the familiar keyboard is also included for the traditionalists amongst us. The dual functions work in harmony and are backed by the new BlackBerry 7 OS, with 768MB RAM and 8GB storage. The Bold Touch comes with a 5MP camera with video and includes Near Field Communications technology for wireless payment and other wireless connectivity.
Vodafone are also set to stock the Blackberry Bold Touch, on the set release date of September 15th as a sim-free and contract model. But if you can’t wait till mid-September maybe Play.com have the deal for you.
