New BlackBerry Curve 3G 9320 Appears in Leaky Pictures

  • by

Research in Motion may have chosen to not bring any new BlackBerry smartphones to MWC, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t working on new devices behind the screens. A new BlackBerry Curve has leaked online with the model number 9320, suggesting that it will replace the current Curve 3G 9300.

BGR India got the scoop, with both front and back snaps of the phone gathered along with the specifications. The new Curve 9320 resembles the newer Curve 9360 model when you take a look at the back and sides, especially the slim-line rubberised volume buttons. When we look at the front of the phone however, it resembles the older Curve 9300.

As has been the growing trend with RIM’s new phones, the company has bundled together aspects from phones across the range. Rather than the traditional flat area where the Call Keys, Menu Button, Trackpad and Back Button are, the Curve 9320 has raised individual buttons. This style comes from the new Bold 9790 and Torch 9860.

The phone has a 2.44-inch display, 3.2-Megapixel rear camera (no autofocus) with LED flash, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, GPS and 512MB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a Micro SD card. It’s clear that this phone will be an entry level phone to encourage pay as you go users to hop aboard the good ship BlackBerry.

From their time with the device, BGR India said that the phone had an all-plastic construction, yet felt sturdy and pretty well built. They also say it will provide around 24 hour’s usage from a single charge even with heavy usage.

The BlackBerry smartphone is one of the most popular in India, with Research in Motion holding third spot in the market, behind Samsung and Nokia respectively. We’re pretty certain this new Curve model will launch over here in the UK as well, as the range is very popular on pay as you go tariffs.
