Blackberry PlayBook drops nationwide in UK tomorrow – Available through Selfridges today

97 days after the US first got to grips with the Blackberry PlayBook – Playtime has come to the UK with the launch for RIM’s first step into the tablet market set for tomorrow.

That is unless you’re near Selfridge’s in London today where you can get the fab slab one while day earlier while stocks last!

The 7” PlayBook is designed for media and play but the tablet is also ready for business as RIM were keen to let us know recently. Don’t let size fool you! The first tablet in the Blackberry brand is set to become a legit contender to leaders in the market in the form of Apple’s iPad 2 (to which the PlayBook’s spec closely rivals) and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1. The battle for the tablet market is about to kick-off big in the coming months!

The Blackberry PlayBook will retail for £399 in 16GB version, £479 for the 32GB up to £559 for the premium 64GB model with Currys, Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U amongst the tablet’s stockists and we at the Gadget Helpline are excited to see how RIM’s first offering fares when it debuts this week here in the United Kingdom.
