We all know that RIM will be launching its last ditch attempt at saving the BlackBerry brand of smartphones on January the 30th, but what we are not sure on is just when the proposed Z10 BB10 running smartphones will hit our shelves.
Well, according to sources at the Verge, an employee working at Vodafone UK has leaked a photo of an in-house memo which states that the Z10 will be landing in the UK on the same day the new BlackBerry 10 operating system is launched in the UK – that’s from 5 p.m. on Wednesday. This means that Vodafone will be stocking the newest BlackBerry within 48 hours of launch.
The BlackBerry Z10 has been seen in the wild for a few months now thanks to a couple of Dev units making the rounds with the new BB 10 OS, but yesterday we at the Gadget Helpline were able to get some exclusive photos of the new Z10 smartphone before the release in the never before seen white version.
The same leaked document reveals that the BB10 Z10 hitting Vodafone on Wednesday will be the black version of the smartphone, but the pictured white version will be hitting UK shelves in mid-February.
What’s more; the Z10 is also looking to be Vodafone’s first 4G ready device, with the network still working out the finer points of launching the super fast signal service in the UK. For access to the 4G LTE service Vodafone 4G customers will be paying £47 per month for 3GB of data and unlimited talk and text for 24 months, or if you want a cheaper monthly deal you can pay £229 up front for the BB Z10 and £25 per month, which includes 100MB of data, unlimited texts, and 100 minutes of talk.
What this all points to is a big week for RIM and customers getting their hands on the new range of BlackBerry handsets and the latest BB10 OS very soon. BB10 officially launches tomorrow at multiple global events.
