Boastful Ballmer Claims Over 7% of the World’s Population Will Run Windows 8 by 2014

After uptight news source Forbes laid into Microsoft Boss Steve Ballmer recently, joining the lynch mob seeking to slam the eccentric frontman’s approach to business, the outspoken CEO has hit the Seoul Digital Forum to declare his companies plans for Windows 8 world domination – or at least 7% of the world’s population.

Big Ballms claims that an estimated 500-million personal computer and tablet owners will install or upgrade to the new operating system between the dual-function platform’s launch later in the year and the end of 2013. Quite a claim, we think and a boastful one from the boss. Windows 8 is believed near completion and a number of builds have been released to developers since the software update was announced in 2011, possibly October is history repeats itself – but it’s been in the works since before Window 7 was even released.

A Release Preview version is expected to be made available on June the 5th and Windows 8 will completely reboot the operating system coming in three different versions for PC upgraders, new PC buyers and “slate” owners. Is Ballmer’s boast too big for its boots? Or do our Gadget Helpline readers think that Microsoft can make Windows 8 great in 2013?
