Yesterday it was reported that the HTC range of smartphones was set to receive a couple new Ones. Namely the quad-core former HTC Edge/Endeavour – which became the HTC One X and the HTC Ville – which transformed into the HTC One S. But apparently that’s not every One..
It seems that HTC’s 2012 direction is “One brand to rule them all” – and the Taiwanese tech co. will be repackaging its entire range, seeking to become Number One on the mobile market, starting with this year’s line-up with some of these devices set to make first appearances at the Mobile World Congress in little over a week. From what we’re just finding out from a number of sources is the gadgets which will unify the brand and what exactly the suffix initial could represent.
So, the HTC Primo will become the HTC One V meaning Value and delivering 1GHz dual-core processing with, 1GB of RAM, 3.7” Super AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera and a Beats Audio flavour. Next up the HTC Quattro will be known as the HTC One XL for Xtra Large – as in a 10.1” tablet boasting quad-core speeds, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage and HTC Scribe to name but a few of its attractive features. And presumably all will roll in with Google’s latest Android OS, version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
As for the first two revealed, the newly dubbed HTC One X represents Xtreme Performance and the HTC One S means Slim – and we detailed some of the impressive spec of these Ones in our previous article.
Those hoping for the next ChaCha look to be sadly disappointed.
