Budget Huawei Ascend G510 launches on Vodafone from 12th April

The invasion of the Chinese smartphone is coming, as Vodafone has announced that it will be stocking the Huawei Ascend G510 on its network from April 12th.

The budget smartphone will be on sale via Vodafone for a cut price of £130 on pay as you go, or for a very cheap £13 per month on contract – naturally, the phone is free!

For this bargain price you can get a decent bit of smartphone kit, as the Ascend G510 comes sporting a large 4.5-inch 480 x 854 pixel screen with a 1.2 GHz dual-core chip inside along with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB with a micro SD card.

It runs the Android Jelly Bean OS (sadly it’s only on version 4.1) with Huawei’s Emotion UI and it also has a decent 5-megapixel camera which can capture images up to 2592×1940 pixels in size with autofocus, LED flash with also a VGA front facing camera as well for video calls.

The handset may not set the world alight but as budget phone with a large screen we think it’s a bit of a winner.

The Huawei Ascend G510 will be available on the Vodafone network in the UK from April 12th and customers will be able to pick it up online or in stores.
