Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell is the latest in a long line of recognisable actors and actresses to offer their likenesses to the Call of Duty game series. And befitting of his previous experience in the horror business the B-movie legend known affectionately as “The Chin” will be once again going up against the undead in the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Supremacy downloadable pack which arrives on June the 2nd.
After appearing as chainsaw wielding anti-hero Ash in the original The Evil Dead and its two sequels Campbell has gained himself quite a cult following over the last three decades. With many horror fans crossing fandoms over into the gaming community and with third person shooter Call of Duty being one of the biggest franchises in gaming history it was inevitable the two would someday meet – and it was going to be a gorey-ous moment when it happened.
Bruce will arrive as part of the Exo Zombies Carrier update in the upcoming Supremacy DLC pack as a playable character with both his voice and face (complete with that chin) appearing in the survival horror themed segment of the latest Call of Duty for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Zombie updates have become a tradition in the Call of Duty series and is always an occasion to celebrate guest actors. Previous star power has included the likes of Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Danny Trejo (Machete), Rose McGowan (Scream), Bill Paxton (Aliens) and even Oscar-nominated actor John Malkovich took a turn in the last instalment for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
The Supremacy DLC pack also contains four maps offering new playable arenas based on London’s Houses of Parliament and Russia’s Kremlin and is available to download from June 2nd. Till then enjoy this trailer featuring the COD debut of Bruce Campbell himself!
