If you’ve ever had an old iPhone with iMessage, got a new phone then stopped receiving half of your text messages? Then you are most definitely not alone! It may have taken Apple a while to listen to the gripes and grievances of their customers when it comes to this issue, but finally they have done something about it!
Here’s how to end your iMessage woes in a simple step by step guide.
If you still have your troublesome iPhone then this is how you’d go about turning off your iMessage:
- Put your original SIM card back into your iPhone.
- Make sure that you’re connected to a mobile data network (like 3G or LTE).
- Tap Settings
- Tap Messages
- Tap iMessage to Off.
However, if you’re one of those people that completely discard your old phone after getting a new one, there is still hope on the horizon in the form of Apple’s new software.
All you’d have to do is go onto their designated iMessage deactivation page found here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage
Then it’s just a case of entering your phone number to receive your deactivation code, then entering said code into the confirmation box on the webpage. Simple as that!
