DiRT Showdown Races Available to Demo on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC

From the ashes of legendary games studio Codemasters, comes the first title from new venture Codemasters Racing. Kind of… DiRT Showdown is now being made available in demo on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, Playstation Network Store and Steam for Windows PC.

Up for grabs from DiRT Showdown, which is a spin-off from the classic Colin McRae Rally series, is the single player race called “8-Ball”. Set around the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco players can participate in a “chaotic, full impact race” bashing and blasting into rival drivers to earn themselves a spot in a multiplayer mash-up where mates can be invited to join in race over the respective gaming communities to engage in a “Rampage” mode featuring a choice of vicious vehicles including a Hearse and a Ford Fiesta!

Codemasters stated at the game’s launch that “Whether players are using nitrous to boost, smashing into their opponents or pulling off stunts, DiRT Showdown’s fresh handling system and super-charged damage engine embed excitement into every event.”

The full DiRT Showdown game launches for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC on May 25th with the demo available from today – Xbox owners be aware that it’s been suggested there are delays updating the demo directly to the Dashboard.
