The King is Back! And Duke Nukem is set to get his first DLC for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows in a few short months, offering gamers of the much-hyped reboot Duke Nukem Forever the opportunity to play new maps and enjoy blowing stuff up with all new weapons in a package called the “Hail to the Icons Parody Pack”.
The downloadable content bundle will drop this autumn (date to be announced) and for those who were quick to sign up to Duke’s “First Access Club” before the latest chart-topping game’s release will get their goodies totally free-of-charge from publishers 2K Games.
The “Hail to the Icons Parody Pack” contains a selection of brand new gaming modes, including: “Freeze Tag” – Players freeze and explode opponents for maximum points. The mode also featuring a “Hot Potato” mini-game in which players grab one of Duke’s babes and try to keep hold of her for the longest time possible, while being pursued by fellow challengers! This part of the bonus bundle also include “Hail to the King” free-play mode.
The “Call of Duke” mode brings Duke into modern warfare! – Blasting his way through war-torn cities with new weapon the “n00b t00b”. The mode features “Sandbox”. Players battle it out as a mini-Duke in a big sandbox full of toys – and sticky bombs! “Inferno” is a 16-bit throwback, including lava pits and teleporters and the DFG weapon. And finally, “2Forts1Bridge” employs the minigun in a multiplayer shoot-out mode.
