Elder Scrolls: Skyrim quests set to be infinite in number

  • by
Ever since GTA III landed on the shelves ten years ago, the overwhelming trend in gaming has been for open-world, sandbox gaming. These big game worlds are a double-edged sword, though; they’re fun to explore, but once you’ve finished the main story mode you’re often left in that world with nothing to do. Skyrim won’t be like that…

Bethesda, makers of the epic Elder Scrolls RPGs, wants players to get a huge amount of play time and dragon slaying with the upcoming 5th in the series: Skyrim. To acheive this, the company has developed what it calls the ‘Radiant Quest System’, which it claims will infinitely spawn quests for players depending where they are in the game world.

It’s good news for anyone looking to get stuck in and not come out again this year. Bethesda’s Todd Howard said: “The vibe of the game is that it’s something that you can play forever. The world is probably the one thing that sets [Skyrim] apart from other games. It feels really real for what it is… It’s just fun to explore.
