So we already know Amazon’s intentions of releasing a couple of Android running tablet devices later on this year, although we’ve yet to hear anything about exactly when.
We did hear some rumours that the devices may launch sometime in October, but now we have some additional evidence of an October release date thanks to Cens (a Taiwanese economic news site). The say that electronic manufacturer Quanta who produce the Kindle for Amazon along with the PlayBook for RIM, will be producing both Amazon Android tablets code-named “Coyote” and “Hollywood”.
The article goes on to say that Quanta are expecting to ship around 3 million units of both tablets to Amazon in October, therefore hopefully meaning the devices will indeed go on sale soon after.
We’ve still yet to see any pictures of either of the Android tablets, so hopefully if the October release data does turn out to be true, perhaps Amazon will be showing off the devices fairly soon to build up the hype.
