The Excess of Evil: Resident Evil 6 Collector’s Edition, Chronicles HD Collection & Official Zombie Restaurant Opens!

The Gadget Helpline has received word that Capcom has a few special treats up its sleeve for fans of its popular zombie horror franchise Resident Evil. Two exciting new gaming packages will be unleashed – and there’s even news of an undead themed official restaurant and merchandise store based on the Resident Evil games and movies opening up to the public in Capcom’s native Japan!

RESIDENT EVIL: CHRONICLES HD COLLECTION:

Firstly there’s Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection which hits the Playstation Store in the UK and Europe (except for Germany) for digital download today. The collection includes both spin-offs Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (2007) and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (2009). These appear together for the first time in gloriously gory high definition with Playstation Move compatible play and take familiar scenarios from the classic games as well as new and original scenes to expand on the familiar lore of the Resident Evil story. This dangerous duo can be bought now for Playstation 3 for £21.99 – or each Chronicle can be purchased singularly for £11.99 from July 18th.

RESIDENT EVIL 6 COLLECTOR’S EDITION:

Capcom has also announced a frightfully good package for its newest sequel Resident Evil 6. In addition to a physical disc copy of the gruesome game which infests globally across consoles including Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on October the 2nd, the Resident Evil 6: Collector’s Edition features a steel-box case, exclusive hardback book featuring creepy concept art used in the game’s creation (this will also be available separately) and Resident Evil Avatar DLC for Xbox 360 – or alternatively for PS3 owners there’s a free-to-download “Dynamic Theme” on offer.

The awesome physical items continue with the inclusion of Ivy University, Tall Oaks hoodie – based on one of the RE saga’s key locations – and also crammed into the Collector’s Set is a selection of three Forces Emblems made from enamelled zinc and featuring the symbols of RE6’s three main characters, mounted with a uniquely numbered frame. If this wasn’t enough, let’s not forget the ultra-cool “needle bomb” box that it all comes in! There’s no price or release date for the set at present, but it is coming our way here in the U.K and we will update this info when the boxset drops here. RESTAURANT EVIL?:

Tokyo has been an important featured location in the Resident Evil legacy from the games to movies, including most recent addition Retribution which spreads to cinemas on September the 14th – so what better location for Capcom to open its first restaurant based on the zombie action adventure series than the Japanese capital?

The Biohazard Café and Grill S.T.A.R.S Restaurant (named after Resident Evil’s native title and the elite Special Forces unit in the games) will feature undead delicacies and ‘live’ zombie performances and entertainment. Diners will also have the chance to snap up some cool exclusives and limited edition Resident Evil merchandise when this unique eatery opens its doors on July 13th and is only planned to be open for 12 months. So get your grub on – and try not to become the main course!
