Yesterday Facebook launched its very own dedicated Facebook Camera App for Apple iOS running devices such as the iPhone 4s and the iPad and the new app is likely to be the future of the Facebook and Instagram partnership.
With Facebook’s recent purchase of Instagram for a cool $1 billion many users expected a new Camera app to appear sooner or later but the new Facebook Camera App appears to be Instagram free at the point of release.
The app is free of charge and available on iTunes and will allow users to capture images on the handset then use one of the 15 filters which can be applied to photos using a Instagram-esq interface.
Users will also be able to display photos from your Facebook friends list, giving you the option to enlarge individual photos or see more from a given album as well as the option to up upload several shots at the same time which is a first for FB.
Additionally you will be able to add all the standard Facebook features such as quickly tage friends, add locations and comment on yours and friends images.
Facebook are still awaiting to see if the Instagram purchase will be allowed as the deal is currently going through the American Federal Trade Commission, whilst they look into whether the partnership is anti-competitive or not.
If the purchase gets the go ahead tehn we are sure that Facebook will start o incorporate more Instagram features into the app or maybe just merge both the apps into one Facebook camera tool.
You can download the app to your Apple device by visiting iTunes, https://www.facebook.com/mobile/camera or you can even have Facebook send you the link and download direct onto your handset.
There is no word on an Android or Windows Phone 7 App version but we are sure they will be landing very soon.
