A survey of British Facebook users has revealed that the majority of photos shared amongst our mates are taken while very, very drunk. No less than 76% of those asked were caught up in the merriment of a moment or with drink in hand when they were unflatteringly snapped in shots that would later be the source of much hilarity.
Out of 2000 Brits recorded by MyMemory.com the number admitting to being photographed while under the influence equates to three quarters of all photos taken and even those of us who may have more recently kicked the habit have some shameful shots hidden away in the depths of those public photo albums.. *Ahem*
12% of those surveyed say they block their pals from seeing potential embarrassing drunken episodes by setting tagged photos to private, meaning only they can see their public shaming, with 8% admitting their out of work activities could seriously affect their job. Another 58% aren’t so bothered and leave their snaps open to ridicule.
The website reminds us of the photo ops during this current season of merriment: “As the Christmas party season is upon us, there’s sure to be thousands more festive pictures uploaded on to social networking sites everyday; many of which I’m sure will also be fuelled by alcohol.”
