Surprise! Fallout Shelter is out now on the App Store. Fallout what? Yeah that’s what I thought… Bethesda Game Studios chief Todd Howard just announced Fallout Shelter, a new Fallout app game thing, now on the App Store.
In Fallout Shelter you get to make your own vault in a game in which you play an Overseer. Todd Howard said: “It’s inspired by the likes of Little Computer People, XCOM, SimCity and FTL”
From the E3 video you get to see each dweller has full stats and levels up. They have items, weapons and outfits, which they need for when you send them off to the wasteland. Resources are important, as is having the right balance of food, water and power. There are lots of different rooms you can build, and you can train your dwellers’ stats. You even get to name them!
Fallout Shelter is free, with no paywall timers, and you don’t need an internet connection. “We do let you buy more lunch boxes if you want more loot,” Howard added.
Fallout Shelter is a 200 MB download, and requires iOS 7.0 or later. It’s compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and is optimised for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.
Pete Hines had this to say about and android version: “May need to give iTunes a little time for it to update. It’ll be up there. We will have info later about Android version.”
