Just a few weeks ago Nintendo announced that there would be significant price drops in the UK for the 3DS portable games console, and we’re just starting to see some of those deals appearing.
For those who were quick to get their hands on the 3DS, Nintendo promised to sweeten the deal by offering a bundle of free NES and Game Boy Advance games that will work on the 3DS, provided you purchased one before the 12th August.
If you’ve already got a 3DS or you plan on getting one before the shops close today, then remember you have until midnight tonight to register it on the online Nintendo eShop to qualify for the free games package!
Once you’ve registered, from September 1st Nintendo will release the first batch of free games which will be a bundle of NES games including Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Jr, Balloon Flight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda.
Then later on in the year Nintendo will release ten free Game Boy Advance titles which will be kept solely for the early adopting public as a thank you. Those titles will include Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion and Mario vs Donkey Kong.
The price cuts begin tomorrow in the UK, with Morrisons and Asda dropping their prices to £120 for the console. Tesco are also rumoured to be undercutting both by selling the 3DS for just £155, while Sainsburys will be offering it for £140.
Game and Gamestop will be selling for £149 with bundle deals with games such as Zelda:Ocarina of Time for £159, so it would seem that a supermarket is your best bet for a bargain.
Remember, don’t forget to register with the eShop on your 3DS before midnight to get the free games bundle, and don’t forget to let us know which game is your favourite.
