Bluboo is not a name you may have heard of before, but don’t let the somewhat whimsical name shape any lowly expectations. Bluboo is actually one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in China and the company has been raising a respectable line-up of inexpensive smartphones. Also it’s a great name to say. Go on, try it. Bluboo.
One of Bluboo’s recent releases was the XTouch – another budget model costing around $170. It was released in December and features modest specs and a nice range of up-to-date functions but at a fraction of the price asked by the major brands. It sounds like a perfect addition to join our catalogue of Gadget Helpline’s Smart Alternatives.
Camera tech provided includes 5-megapixels on the front-facing or selfie cam and the main camera at the back offers 20-megapixels, very impressive for a phone of this price point, and a 3000mAh li-polmer battery keeps things ticking.
One standout of the Bluboo XTouch for us is the design, a really tight bezel offers a nice broad flat touch surface and it’s a very stylish looking phone with a really attractive abstract 3D effect on the back casing. It looks a bit like a Sony on first glance, but it’s not. It’s a Bluboo and its available in China and from online retailers.
