GAME has announced that it will no longer be taking pre-orders for the Xbox One Day One Edition consoles; a statement very quickly revoked by the company as a new batch of limited Xbox One Day One Edition consoles once again became available to order online.
This is not GAME saying they have sold out of Xbox One consoles for pre-order – just the special edition Day One versions of the console that comes with a special edition commemorative controller with the release date on it and an exclusive achievement. All Xbox One pre-orders will also come with a free download of FIFA 14 as announced last week.
GAME stated earlier in the week that it had now sold out of the pre-orders for the console in the UK, which given as GAME is the biggest high-street retailer of computer games, was a good sign for Microsoft. However it wasn’t necessarily good news for gamers who are waiting to order the console.
Customers can still get their hands on a standard edition of the Xbox One which will still come with FIFA 14, minus the commemorative controller and token code to unlock an exclusive achievement which comes with the Day One edition of the console.
In the FAQ secition of GAME’s Xbox One page the company explains:
“Can I preorder the Xbox One Day One Edition again?”
“Yes – we’ve done some number wrangling and are happy to say we still have a limited number of pre-order consoles we can offer. We’ve even re-added the bundles we had on offer. “
The Day One edition and standard Xbox One bundles are up for pre-order with a £429.99 sale price. For fans who want Call Of Duty: Ghosts, a special pre-order bundle is also available, priced at £459.99 with FIFA 14 also included.
You will need to act fast if you want to get hold of one of the Day One editions of the Xbox One, so good luck!
