The Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is now up for pre-order after being revealed during a Microsoft panel at the start of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The panel was hosted by the voice of main character Marcus Fenix, John DiMaggio, and the guys from The Coalition – the developers making Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, as well as the upcoming Gears 4.
Along with speaking about the development of the game they announced that the release date for the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and an Xbox One bundle containing the game will be August 25th in the States and slightly earlier, on the 21st August in the UK, and that pre-ordering is now live on the Microsoft Store with retailers such as Amazon and Gamestop also named as stockists.
The Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Xbox One bundle will cost $350 in the US and £309.99 over here and contains a digital code for the game along with a 500GB version of the Xbox One console which includes a revised controller featuring the new addition of a 3.5mm jack port. The bundle also features a 14 day Xbox Live Gold trial, a code for the Gears 4 beta and also a skin for our favourite thrash ball player Cole.
