You’ll be pleased to know that Google have now ironed out all the teething issues experienced when it initially launched the Gmail App for iOS devices. For anyone who didn’t try the app on release day, Google had a big bug in the app which unfortunately broke the notifications and hence displayed an error message for users.

Yes, I agree, something that severe should have been spotted during testing and not something that the general public should have to experience. Anyway, that’s all water under the bridge now, and to be fair, it’s actually a very good app to have and use (if you’re a Gmail user that is) on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad, and that’s why you should give it another chance.

So, if you’re prepared to do that, you’ll have to make sure that they old version is completely uninstalled from your iOS device, or alternatively logging out will suffice. Once you have done  that you’re safe to carry on and install the new 1.0.2 version.

Google have said that during the last two weeks while the app has been absent from the App Store, they have received helpful feedback from users along with additional feature requests, such as multiple account support along with the ability to customise certain things like notifications and add mobile specific signatures when sending mail. So hopefully it would be too long before we can expect to have some more handy features added.

Head on over to the App Store now where you can download the update Gmail app onto your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and make sure you let us know what you think by sending us your comments below or tweet us @Gadget_Helpline, also don’t forget to visit our Official Facebook group as well.
