Life over at Google+ has been pretty slow since the hugely overblown launch about a month ago. We were excited to hear about the plan to bring together the best elements of Facebook, with a pinch of Skype, incorporating Google’s existing services and some intriguing new personalised features, such as +Circles and +Huddle, into one harmonious online social life. To be fair, it’s not delivered – At all..
Our opinion (and the opinion of everyone else we went back to Facebook to talk about it with) doesn’t seem to affect Google’s plan to bring their social fledgling into new directions. With a reported 20-million already signed up and the network live for desktop PC, Android mobiles as well as iPhone, today Google+ expands to Apple’s other gadgets – iPad and iPod Touch.
Find it now on the iTunes Store, but despite the spiel noting “iPad support” don’t expect a brilliantly optimised Google+ experience suited specifically for your tablet. From what we hear the app will simply be an inflated version of the version currently sitting idle on your iPhone. The Google+ app does however come with reinforced stability and better performance. So when you’re checking on that first notification you’ve received in the last fortnight it shouldn’t crash or anything..
