As the G today announces its Games roll out onto the (un-)social network Google+, Facebook doesn’t hang around in retaliating. Now the Zuck’s Empire reveals its plans for a bigger more integrated playtime experience.
Formerly cramped little apps, popular Facebook games such as CityVille will now utilise a much larger area of the screen space – full screen in fact – with the option of toggling the section usually used for chatting with members of your friends list into a feed for those irritating games updates that quite often spam our Facebook News Feed.
Facebook gamers can also opt to track pal’s progress on games, and leap into the game themselves for a bit of friendly competition and if they particularly like what they’ve been playing they can add a bookmark to it, for easy access, anytime, from the News Feed.
Was this announcement a bit of quick footwork by Facebook – or pure co-incidence? It does seem Facebook will do anything to cling onto its market, even upping its game to keep on the ball. An example from recent history: Google+ sets up Hangouts video chat – Facebook brings in Skype. The War continues..
