Rockstar has released another free GTA Online update named the High Life pack, and while there’s still no sign of the highly-anticipated heists; the one thing I’m waiting for, there are plenty of new guns, cars and missions to keep you busy.
The update is now available for Xbox 360 and PS3, it brings with it a whole host of changes including a few huge ones, you will now be able two own two properties instead of the previous limit of one meaning more garage space for car hoarders. To account for this they have added a few new properties for us, thankfully because everyone seems to be living in the same apartment at the moment.
On the topic of more space the Rockstar team will be adding several new vehicles, to many to talk about so here is a list:
The Enus Huntley S SUV
Dewbauchee Massacro Sports car
Pegassi Zentorno Super car
Dinka Thrust Motorcycle
You can now look forward to taking these new vehicles for a spin in non-contact races, following on the heels of non-slip stream races, there is now the option to stop any contact with other racers. You’ll still collide with other traffic and scenery but won’t get pit manoeuvred by others, and sure this stops people like me spending the whole race trying to smash your car to pieces, but GTA is not a racing we should be blowing each other up and crashing repeatedly.
As previously mentioned still no heists, but there are new jobs so that’s a start I guess, Rockstar have added 8 new missions and 4 new races to GTA Online. Only one new weapon though, Rockstar have added the new “powerful” Bullpup Rifle.
The Most important game changer in this update though is being referred to as the end to griefing, personal it seems like a new way to grief but it’s also pretty cool. It’s been a major gripe and challenge for Rockstar since GTA Vs inception to reduce the deathmatch like culture every sandbox ends up with. So the latest step in their never ending battle to stop idiots blowing people up along with their cars, the new system that grades your ‘mental state’ from peaceful to psycho has been introduced. Here’s the word from Rockstar:
“With the new Mental State stat, we are keeping track of your behaviour. If you seem to enjoy attacking pedestrians and terrorizing other players, then your blip will start to turn red on other players’ maps.”
“…Killing another player will turn your blip red faster than blowing up a car or taking out a random pedestrian. Killing a player with a white blip will push your Mental State into the red faster… while taking out full-on psycho players won’t cause your own Mental State stat to increase at all.”
“Mental state also factors into matchmaking – you’ll automatically join free mode sessions containing people more ‘compatible’ with your play style, and if a red-blipped lunatic does enter your session, you at least have fair warning!”

This has already had a great effect of dividing players with people literally hunting psychos so maybe it will work, or maybe I’ll use it to lure more people in. The full changelog can be found here.
