Ok so maybe that’s an overstatement I’m sure there will be some cool games at E3, but the one thing I’ve hoped for since it was released was a PC version of GTA V. Now we know that it’s coming.
As we all expected Rockstar’s blockbuster will be going next gen this year, and it’ll work with GTA Online saves from both Xbox 360 and PS3, so there will be no need to start your virtual life again, although this won’t likely be the same for PC. But the surprise announcement something I’d given up all hope on was that it would come to PC.
Sony were the first to confirm that Grand Theft Auto V will be out on PlayStation 4 this autumn. They didn’t mention anything about the Xbox One (or PC) but they also didn’t claim that the PlayStation 4 version is exclusive.
They sort of tried to imply otherwise though so maybe it will be seeing the PS4 shelves first, but the version of the trailer release by Rockstar themselves clearly shows it’s coming to Xbox One and PC as well, as you can see below.
Even Rockstar’s own trailer has footage taken from the PlayStation 4 version, and according to their blog it will feature ‘across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions’.
Also promised are ‘new wildlife, upgraded weather and damage effects, and an array of new details to discover’. The PC version will also have a video editor. All good news this game can only get better.
The graphical improvements will apply to GTA Online as well, and it will come packed with all the features currently on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. When do we get heists though? Still no word on that.
No word yet on a possible Red Dead Redemption 2, or any of the other hoped-for Rockstar sequels, we can still dream though right?
