Google Maps has revealed its most magically marvellous Street View yet, allowing fans of JK Rowling’s boy wizard Harry Potter to take a walk down Diagon Alley – the fictional shopping district as seen in the popular film franchise.
You no longer need a handful of floo powder and a dusty old fireplace to visit Diagon Alley and the Street View has actually been photo captured from within the walls of the Harry Potter tour at Warner Bros. Studios in London. Fans can window shop to their heart’s content with highlights including the familiar shop fronts of wand maker Ollivander’s, Gringott’s Bank and the colourful Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes – your one stop shop for magical practical jokes and sickly treats!
This expansion on the wizarding world of Harry Potter is sure to delight fans young and old and Google offers a short but enjoyable wander down the famous street, but some suspension of disbelief is required when you reach the end of the road… As this is still just a studio and you might be disappointed to find a bit of green screening and a regular looking exit rather than a pint of butterbeer waiting for you in the Leaky Cauldron pub!
Minor quibbles aside, well done Google. Mischief managed!
