Five New HD Channels Added to Virgin Media TV Service

  • by

Virgin Media has announced that it will be adding five brand new High Definition channels to its TV service in the very near future, bringing more high quality programs into your living room.

The five new channels – Eden HD, Good Food HD, Dave HD, Watch HD and Alibi HD – will bring the total of HD channels available on Virgin Media up to a whopping 37.

Eden HD and Good Food HD will begin broadcasting in HD quality on October 7th, Dave HD will begin on October 10th, Watch HD on the 12th and Alibi HD will start much later in early 2012.

In addition, Virgin will also be adding two new standard definition channels; Yesterday +1 and Eden +1.

If you’re a subscriber to Virgin Media’s ‘XL’ TV package, you’ll soon have access to a total of 24 HD channels which won’t cost you a penny more. The other 13 HD channels consist of Sky Sports and Movie channels, all of which are available to add for an added monthly cost.

Cindy Rose, executive director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media, says: “We’re thrilled to be bringing more dazzling HD channels to our TV service, offering our customers even more choice and variety.”

We’ve got to say, out of the five new HD channels, the only one that has really grabbed our attention is Dave HD – just think of all those glorious re-runs in High Def quality.
