Yesterday HTC announced its brand new range of Windows Phone 8 sporting handsets to the world, in the form of the HTC 8X and HTC 8S smartphones that will be released around November time.
When the handsets we announced HTC focused solely on what the two new Windows smartphones will come with and left out some of the details we were clamouring for the most; the pricing and the release date of the smartphones.
Well, UK-based retailer Unlocked Mobiles has helped us out with one of these areas by announcing the pricing for the two smartphones in an unlocked SIM-free form.
The retailer states that the HTC 8X will be hitting their shelves for £398.98 and that the HTC 8S will be coming in at a mid-range price of £224.98.
HTC is still not stating the RRP for the devices so currently this is the only pricing information that is available for the two new flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphones from HTC, but we can’t say we mind as other prices are within their expected brackets.
The HTC 8S will be a mid-range smartphone but with a few high end features including a dual-core 1GHz S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage (with a micro SD card slot for expansion) and sporting an impressive 4-inch S-LCD display with Gorilla Glass.
The phone also has a 5-megapixel camera on the rear of the phone, but no front-facing snapper, plus Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G (US) and 3G (UK), and Beats Audio integration.
The HTC 8X will be the bigger, badder brother to the 8S and it includes Beats Audio integration with a dedicated audio amplifier that works for both headphones and the external speaker. It also has a whopping 16GB of internal memory (but no microsSD slot for expansion).
The 8X has a 4.3-inch HD display of the S-LCD2 variety, a dual-core 1.5GHz Krait chip from Qualcomm, coupled with 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 lens and an impressive 2.1-megapixel front facing camera that can record video in Full HD 1080p quality,.
We cannot wait to get our hands on the smartphones, and Unlocked Mobiles have stated that the phones will be released on a stuttered release with et HTC 8X due early November and the HTC 8S coming mid-November.
