HTC Jetstream Tablet Goes On Sale With AT&T in U.S

HTC’s second Android Tablet, the Jetstream, is now on sale in the United States exclusively on the AT&T network.

Don’t remember the HTC Jetstream? Sure you do! How about if we refer to it as the HTC Puccini, does that jog your memory? We thought it might.

HTC’s 10.1-inch tablet was leaked earlier in the year and went under the codename of Puccini, though it was recently unveiled as the Jetstream and then officially announced by AT&T.

AT&T are offering the tablet on a 2-year contract for a wallet-stinging $700 plus monthly payments for your 4G data allowance. Ouch. The tablet on its own will set you back $849.99, a good $120 more than the 32GB 3G + Wi-Fi iPad 2 on the AT&T network.

The HTC Jetstream is a 10.1-inch tablet PC running Android Honeycomb 3.1 software, powered by a 1.5GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm processor for speed and power. It also features an 8-megapixel rear camera for great still snaps and 1080p video recording, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.

Both Wi-Fi and Mobile Internet connectivity are packed into the Jetstream, though the Mobile Internet connection comes in the form of the very speedy 4G, courtesy of AT&T’s 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) network that spans the U.S. Unfortunately for us Brits, we don’t have a 4G network just yet, so the Jetstream won’t be coming to our stores anytime soon.

We have heard rumours that a 3G + Wi-Fi version of the Jetstream will be coming to Europe nearer the end of the year, and it could be renamed the HTC Skyrocket. We’re hoping these whispers turn out to be true.
