HTC launches One M9+ and One E9+ in India this May

HTC is betting on its quad-HD devices the One M9+ and One E9+ to counter the Galaxy S6 in India. The One M9+ is scheduled to go on sale in India from May 3, with pricing actually higher than the S6. Bear in mind the One M9+ won’t be available in the West, it makes sense to try and take as much of the Asian market as possible so a more aggressive pricing was expected. There is no word on a release date yet though.

The One M9+ and will cost around 52,500 Rupees and the One E9+, the phone will be available in the latter half of May, we have no pricing for this as of yet though. The device will be available in Meteor Grey, Gold Sepia and Rose Gold color options.

The One M9+ offers a 5.2-inch QHD display, octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6795T CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, microSD card slot, Duo Camera setup consisting of a 20.7MP shooter along with a 2.1MP sensor at the back, 4MP front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, LTE Category 6 connectivity and a 2,840mAh battery along with the now standard fingerprint scanner.

The One E9+ has a 5.5-inch QHD display and comes with a plastic body. The phone features a similar octa-core 64-bit SoC in the MT6795M. Other specs include dual SIM connectivity, 3GB RAM, 16GB on-board storage, microSD slot that can accommodate microSDXC cards up to 2TB in size, 20MP camera, 4MP front camera and a 2,800mAh battery.

Both the One M9+ and One E9+ feature Boom Sound stereo speakers at the front and HTC’s Sense 7 atop Android 5.0.

With the One M9+ and One E9+ targeting the high-end segments in India, HTC has announced the Desire 326G in the budget segment, with the device offering a 4.5-inch display, quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8MP camera at the back, 2MP front camera and a 2,000mAh battery. The Desire 326G will also be available in stores from mid-May also.
