We are all sat here waiting patiently for the HTC One (M8) to be announced by the Taiwanese company later on today, but whilst the HTC One is possibly the worst kept secret in the tech community.
But even at these final stages where we thought there couldn’t be anything else to leak online before the official announcement, HTC has just accidentally revealed that there will be a Google Play edition of the HTC One (M8) as well as the standard edition.
HTC themselves have Google Play Edition of the M8, according the description for the HTC Gallery app. It states in the info:
“Support for HTC One (M8) Google Play Edition is limited to HTC Photo Edit,”
So there it is, HTC will be releasing a Sense-less Android 4.4 KitKat running Google Play version of the One M8 which will forgo the HTC Sense setup and just hold the pure version of the Android OS.
Full news on the HTC One M8 are being announced as we speak, and hopefully some official confirmation of the Google Play Edition will come too.
