The HTC One (M8) was the flagship device for HTC earlier this year thanks to its high specification and sleek look. The price tag for such a device however is representative of its top notch tech, leaving us mid-range budget buyers in the dark. So for those who love the design of the HTC One (M8) there is another alternative – The HTC One Mini 2.
The Mini 2 isn’t as large or as powerful as its predecessor, but does adopt the smooth finish and sleek design. Similar in size and design to the HTC One Mini, first launched in 2013, it will offer a copycat look but with mid-range specs.

The HTC One Mini 2 features 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, with a microSD card slot for expansion and will run a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. It also has a 4.5-inch screen displaying at 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0. Many of these features are similar to that of the M8, including the 2100mAh battery, so it won’t feel a whole world away despite it being a slightly lower spec.

Although it has lost the M8’s dual-camera for refocusing and defining pictures, it does have a 5 megapixel front facing camera and a regular 13 megapixel BSI sensor on the rear.
It is said to be available in the same colours as the M8 – grey, silver, and amber gold. There hasn’t been any indication of prices yet but as it is set to be released in the UK from 29th May, so it shouldn’t be too long before the beans are spilt.
