HTC Puccini 10.1″ tablet to appear September 1st?

Invites have been issued for a HTC press event, raising speculation that the 10.1” tablet known as Puccini will be officially revealed.

We don’t have an invite (he sobs) but members of the press will be privy to the Taiwanese tech co.’s big day with the invitations themselves said to leave everything to the imagination, but bearing in mind we were previously informed of a “mid-August” Puccini tablet debut, this could very well be the main event of the day – just a tiny bit behind schedule.

What we know about the now FCC-approved HTC Puccini is that the 10.1” screen will be displaying Android 3.X Honeycomb as OS of choice, powered by a 1.2GHz (minimum) dual-core snapdragon processor. It’ll shoot video and still on an 8-megapixel rear-camera, with additional front-facing webcam with digital pen supported with HTC Scribe.

The Puccini is expected to work for 4G in the United States, and 3G and Wi-Fi over here in United Kingdom and Europe.  We have less than a month to wait for the full details, if today’s speculation is anything to go on.
