We first started to hear news about this new Quad-Core smartphone beast from HTC back in November last year.
We think we already know what sort of specifications the new HTC device will feature, and since November, not a lot has changed in the rumour mill.
However, there are two new additional bits of info that go with the initial details that were obtained a few months back. The first is that the handset will now be known by the name ‘Edge’, instead of its previous name ‘Endeavour’.
The second juicy piece of info is that the HTC Edge (as it’s now known) will be making its debut at MWC in the coming weeks.
As a reminder, the HTC Edge will feature the all-important Quad-Core Tegra 3 processor which is clocked at 1.5Ghz. You should also expect to get a gig of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (possibly with an external microSD card slot). The Edge is also expected to have a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 8MP camera with a f/2.2 lens and also 1080p HD video capability. In terms of connectivity, it’s thought this will be a quad-band handset with 21Mbps HDSPA support.
When it comes to the OS, Android 4.0 comes installed along with an updated Sense 4.0 user interface to accompany it.
I doubt anyone would argue the potential that a Quad-Core smartphone will offer, and hopefully we’ll get to see some live demos by the end of the month.
