HTC see record revenue in June

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has again hit record levels of revenue, this time in June.

HTC reported profits of $1.55 billion US last month – a 10.9% increase over the previous month of May.

Their quarterly target for Q2 of $4.1 billion US was met and beaten, with $4.2 billion US of profit recorded since April 2011.

Though official statistics are yet to be released by HTC, analysts estimate that over 21 million HTC smartphones have been sold worldwide since January 1st 2011, with 11.6 million of those being sold in the last 3 months.

HTC are without a doubt the biggest smartphone supplier in Taiwan and have also just snuck into 2nd place in the US, overtaking Research in Motion (Blackberry).

Is it any wonder that HTC are sailing to the top of the smartphone charts? They got onboard with both Android and Windows Phone 7 at an early stage, becoming hardware partners for both operating systems. For several years now HTC have been churning out innovative, well designed and high quality smartphones that last. The Desire range (Desire S, Desire Z, Desire HD and Desire) has probably accounted for a large portion of their success, with the original Desire handset winning many awards.

So congratulations to HTC, and long may their success continue. We’re big fans of HTC here at the Gadget Helpline, and we’d love to hear from our readers.
