HTC has begun to issue invites to a special event inviting the tech press to ‘Experience our Latest Innovation” on November 3rd. Co-incidentally that’s around the same time as the HTC Rezound with Beats Audio technoglogy is rumoured to appear. Once again HTC hasn’t been too sharp at keeping things under wraps before the big day..
Spec for the smartphone formerly known as Vigor, was previously outted unceremoniously by Verizon – the HTC Rezound’s future carrier in the States. Verizon reveal that the musical mobile will feature 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a 4.3″ 720p display and that Beats goodness, with specially tailored software to compliment the Android operating system and optimized listening gear as backed by Dr. Dre.
Photos of the HTC Rezound show it to be unique in design compared to most of its siblings in the range. A stylish but stocky handset with what seems to be a rubberized backing for a sturdy grip, coming in a range of colours – Red, Black and Purple, with additional red detailing to identify the Beats invidivuality.
The first indication that the HTC Rezound was not far away was a leaked DLNA certification document which revealed the gadget to be a “mobile media player” under the guideline for consumer gadgets and media sharing. This would also tie it into the HTC acquisition with Beats. And it’s the Beats logo that features on the press invite – dead cert, right?
We’ll find out on November 3rd, but don’t expect the HTC Rezound to take top billing.
