As expected HTC and Beats hit the streets of NYC yesterday to drop the latest collaboration between the mobile communications and audio tech companies, the HTC Rezound – and with a tuneful blend of high spec tech and high quality audio its sounding great.
Formerly the HTC Vigor, HTC Rezound broke cover in the States revealing the 4.3” 720p display, running Android 2.3 Gingerbread (4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update along soon). This all delivered on a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU supported by a whopping 16GB internal memory, with another 16GB available through MicroSD. Perfect for playing and storing all that music on the street-savvy smartphone which features a HTC traditional black frame or a choice of coloured backings including red or purple, all with red edge detailing in the Beats flavour. The Rezound, of course, comes with some unique software, tailored for the purpose of relaying sharp HQ audio and those Dr. Dre backed ear phones, which, when plugged into the smartphones port activates the audio experience.
Other features of the HTC Rezound include 8-megapixel rear-shooter, a generous camera for a smartphone, which captures 1080p HD video and rivals that of an iPhone 4S, 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, and a Mobile High-Definition Link meaning you can view visual content on an HDTV.
The HTC Rezound will appear in Best Buy and Verizon stores in the United States on November 14th, and presumably (and hopefully) the Beats will be heard in the UK and Europe soon after. It’s true that we currently have the special edition HTC Sensation XE packing those awesome Beats, but feel a little cheated after seeing the generous spec of its US sibling today!
The Gadget Helpline, as always, will be following that story to deliver the latest on any new of a UK release!
