Right at the end of last month we got word of a forthcoming Android superphone from HTC with a rather interesting name – The HTC Runnymede. We saw specifications, and now we’ve got our first proper press shot of the phone.
It’s a beauty. Finished in all-white, the HTC Runnymede has a design that somewhat resembles the Sensation, but bigger. The screen size is a whopping 4.7-inches, matching the record-breaking size of the Windows Phone-based HTC TITAN that was announced 11 days ago.
The HTC Runnymede is expected to be the first smartphone to feature Beats Audio technology, the company acquired by HTC earlier this year.
Proposed specifications for the Runnymede include a 1.5GHz processor, 8-Megapixel Camera with 720p HD video recording, 768MB RAM, Android Gingerbread 2.3.4, HTC Sense 3.5 and DLNA plus the usual connectivity options.
PocketNow reports that two versions of the HTC Runnymede will be sold, the difference being in storage capacity – 16GB and 32GB. Current estimations are £530 for the 16GB model and £560 for the 32GB version, SIM-free of course.
We know that HTC are hosting a fancy event on September 20th in New York City, could that be the time for the Runnymede to become official? We’ll be keeping a keen eye on the event and bringing you all the news as it breaks, so stay tuned!
