The Huawei Ascend P6 may be one of the most thoroughly leaked smartphones ever. We’ve seen official renders, pricing information, benchmark results, live photos and now full specifications. Let’s have a look at Huawei’s latest high-end smartphone.
First, the specifications, courtesy of the capricious @evleaks. They’ve stated that we’ll see a 4.7″ 720p display (sorry, 1080p fans) and a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor – likely MediaTek or one of their own design – in a rather startling thin 6.18 mm design. There’s also slated to be a rear-facing camera at 8 megapixels and an overpowered 5 megapixel front-facing camera with a Purikura-style ‘Face Enhance’ feature.
Earlier leaks also mentioned 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage plus a micro SD slot and a 2,000 mAh battery. All together that would put the Ascend P6 behind true top-of-the-line smartphones like the Galaxy S4 or HTC One, but still good enough to be a highly desirable smartphone.
The phone looks like it’ll be running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with Huawei’s custom Emotion UI on top. We’ve seen a couple of different styles for that UI, so chances are that there are a few good themes available. Beyond a new look, not much is known about any special software features included.
The smartphone is expected to be revealed in London on June 18th – just five days away – during a ‘Beauty’ event that celebrates “beauty, glamour and inspiration.” The theme makes sense inasmuch as thin is fashionable, but I’m intrigued to see if that commitment is more than skin-deep.
